The menu at Los Girasoles is thoughtfully curated to highlight traditional and hearty dishes with a refined touch.

Consejo, dejen propina no sean ratas.

A Full Day in Nature at Los Girasoles (Carlos Keen) ⭐ I spent the entire day at Los Girasoles, a farmhouse restaurant located in Carlos Keen (Luján), and honestly, that’s the best part: you can stay there all day and truly enjoy it. The property is huge—around 2,000 square meters, with lots of open space to walk, relax, and explore. There’s plenty of parking available, which makes arriving very easy. Animals & Countryside Vibes There are sheep you can pet and spend time with, horses, ducks, a cat, and even some wild dogs nearby. The animals seem a bit hungry, so I recommend bringing carrots or lettuce for the sheep and bread crumbs or food for the ducks. It adds to the experience and the animals clearly appreciate it. Different Areas to Enjoy A shaded area full of trees where there’s almost no sunlight—perfect for resting A central tea/coffee (merienda) area, located right in the middle of the property Dining Area, the restaurant dining area is set on a large wooden deck, completely open-air, with a layout that feels like a never-ending front porch. It’s filled with fans everywhere, making it comfortable even on warmer days. The tables have cute, simple decorations that add charm without feeling overdone, and the whole space feels relaxed and welcoming. They also have a great wine selection—I especially recommend Rutini, which paired perfectly with the food and the countryside vibe. A herb garden in the back, which is nice but quite empty—there’s definitely room for improvement here. It would be great if they offered days where visitors could garden A small playhouse for kids: a fun idea, though it’s a bit dusty, so bringing a wash cloth to clean it up a little is a good idea Weather & Comfort The day we went, the weather was ideal (mid february weather)—not too hot and no mosquitos, so we stayed outside all day. Still, I suggest bringing mosquito repellent, just in case. Food & Pricing The full-day experience costs 38,000 ARS per person. You can choose between: All-you-can-eat parrilla (BBQ) (could use some improvement) All-you-can-eat pasta Both options include French fries and salad. The appetizer is a fried empanada, and it was delicious. Beverages are not included in the price, but you’re welcome to bring your own mate, cooler, or drinks and stay the rest of the day outdoors. Tea Room / Merienda In the tea area, you’ll find: Espresso machine coffee A nice variety of cakes and medialunas They can boil water for mate if you ask Facilities Large, clean bathrooms (with toilet paper ) Phone charging spots (bring an adapter if you need one) No AC, but many fans The restaurant area is a deck with a roof—the roof could improve, but everything is open-air and very summery Pets I saw people with their pets, so it seems pet-friendly, just keep in mind there are wild dogs around. A Place with History Los Girasoles feels deeply connected to the history of Carlos Keen, a town that developed around the train station inaugurated in 1879. According to what we were told, the property was previously owned by Carlos Keen, which gives the place a strong historical and countryside identity. You can really feel that traditional rural spirit while spending the day there. Final Thoughts I truly loved this place. The ability to spend the entire day, enjoy nature, animals, food, and relax at your own pace makes it special. There’s room for improvement, but it’s a wonderful spot that deserves to grow and be enjoyed by more people. ⭐ Five stars. Highly recommended.
